Oprah Winfrey tops List of the most Powerful Celebrities

Talk show icon Oprah Winfrey has taken the top spot of Forbes' Celebrity 100, beating out Tiger Woods and Madonna. The Forbes list takes into account earnings, Internet presence, and press, TV, and radio coverage.

Oprah Winfrey's talk show is watched by 30 million American viewers every week, and Forbes estimated her annual gross at $260 million. A Forbes spokeswoman was quoted by Monsters and Critics, "A combination of strong financials and her enduring influence on the US public, which could see her affecting the outcome of next year's US elections, is enough to propel her back into the top spot."

Tiger Woods was second on the list, making over $100 million in one year, followed by Madonna. The singer earned $72 million last year.

Other celebrities in the top 10 include the Rolling Stones at no. 4, Brad Pitt at no. 5, Johnny Depp at no. 6, and Steven Spielberg at no. 10.
