Oprah Winfrey is in India, currently visiting the Hindu town of Uttar Pradesh, where her private security got into a brawl with local reporters.

On Thursday, Winfrey paid a visit to a center for child widows when the ordeal took place. One of her bodyguards was seen shoving a journalist who was trying to follow her inside.

Prem Gautam, Superintendent of Police for Mathura region, told Reuters, "Oprah Winfrey was in one of the ashrams where the widows stay. Journalists wanted to go in, but were refused entry,” adding, “They had an argument, but it was all sorted.”

A cameraman was also “manhandled,” as reporters and cameramen tried to climb a wall to film Winfrey. They then retaliated by throwing stones at the body guards.

E! Online reports that no one was physically hurt, though camera equipment was damaged as a result of the incident.

Three of the former Queen of Daytime’s bodyguards were detained after the scuffle, but they were released upon handwriting an apology to those involved.

Winfrey had arrived in Mumbai on Monday, and she’s scheduled to make a speaking engagement at Jaipur Literature Festival.

She attended a party thrown by Indian billionaire Parmeshwar Godrej earlier in the week, which resulted in Godrej receiving three fines for noise complaints called in by neighbors.
