Oprah's "Aha Moment" Lawsuit
Mutual of Omaha, an insurance company, is suing Oprah Winfrey and her production company, Harpo Productions, Inc., over the phrase, "aha moment."
According to TMZ.com, Winfrey's camp sent a letter to the insurance company demanding them to stop using their phrase in their nationwide campaign because Oprah didn't want people to think she was associated with the insurance company.
In response, Mutual of Omaha, filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District of Omaha. In a statement, the company said that it had been "granted preliminary approval of a federal trademark" for the phrase as part of their slogan, "Official sponsor of the aha moment," the Associated Press reported.
Harpo Productions is hoping for an amicable resolution with the insurance company.
