The Osbournes Will Star in Their Own Variety Show
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne will return to television as a couple, for the first time since their hit MTV "reality" program, in, get this, a weekly variety show.
That's right, American Idol producer FremantleMedia North America is peddling the project, having already pitched the idea to multiple networks, according to a source in the know. All four networks have reportedly shown a great deal of interest in the variety program, and it will likely find a home shortly.
FMNA landed the show's rights, in large part, because of their relationship with Sharon, who is one of the judges in their America's Got Talent.
Much like the reality show, Kelly and Jack will have some sort of role, although it is still unknown.
It is also still unknown what type of show the Osbournes would have, but it is not expected to follow the lame formatting of past American variety shows. Rather, the Osbournes are expected to tap into some of the ideas that have been successful in Germany, with Wanna Bet?, as well as the Spanish-speaking Sabado Gigante.
The last couple to attempt to host their own variety program was the now divorced Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, who actually did fairly well in the ratings.
Expect more details in the weeks to come.
