Ousted NBC Entertainment President Switches to Fox
Kevin Reilly has accepted a job at Fox as its entertainment president less than two months after being fired by NBC for the same position.
The appointment is part of a restructuring plan that includes the promotion of Peter Liguori to entertainment chairman. The changes were announced on Monday and were effective immediately.
Reilly and Liguori have worked together before at the cable channel FX from 2000 to 2003. FX, like Fox, is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.
"I'm not taking a leap of faith here. I'm going back to a situation I know well. ... It was a great fit before, it's a better fit now," Reilly told The Associated Press.
Reilly will report to Liguori in his new job. Liguori's new duties will focus on putting Fox broadcast content on the Internet and other emerging digital mediums.
Reilly, who was in charge of a schedule that included hits such as "Heroes" and "Deal or No Deal," was fired after NBC's fall to fourth place in the ratings. He was replaced by Ben Silverman and Marc Graboff.
