Bones and Seeley find something strange in the desert of Roswell, NM

The show starts with a man lurking through the desert in Roswell, NM. While on the phone with his wife, who thinks he’s in a hotel in Florida, he comes across remains laying among some boulders. He assumes that the remains are alien and before he gets a closer look he is scared off by something in the brush. Back at the lab Dr. Wendell and Angela are caught flirting by Camille. Seeley and “Bones” (Dr. Brennan) come to check out the body. Brennan identifies the body as a female human noting that the metallic coat she is wearing is the reason for her body staying intact. She and Seeley are prevented from taking the body back with them when the local cop refuses to give them jurisdiction. Before an argument can ensue a woman appears wielding a shot gun and telling them to get off of her land. Because the body can not be brought to them, Dr. Wendell and Saroyan watch the autopsy from the back at the office via satellite. She tells them that the man, Marvin, may have been scared by coyotes.

Meanwhile Wendell worries about Hodgins finding out about the relationship with Angela. While in the middle of an MRI the body rises from the table because of the magnetism. Metal is found in the body which Hodgins discloses as six ball bearings that could be put in a body by a shut gun. Seeley goes to the woman who threatened to shoot them. Ms. Benton tells him that the woman would come around all the time shooting videos and says he should see to see Blaine Miller. “Bones” finds a memory chip in the victims stomach and is instructed to send it back to the lab. Seeley and Bones go to Miller’s café where the woman is identified as Ursula. She had been seen there with a business woman, arguing. At Ursula’s trailer “Bones” finds a cinder block with blood on it. They also find that something has been taken. Angela and Dr. Saroyan get the video to work. It reveals clips of what looks like a UFO. Delmy, a blogger, is brought in for breaking into at Ursula’s. She took pictures that were of Ursula and Marvin.

Angela deducts that the ball bearings entered the body from beneath her chin. Later she, Wendell and Hodgins have an awkward lunch together. Marvin is brought back to the scene for questioning, revealing that he and Ursula had an affair. After some work the video appears clearer and shows that Ursula may have witnessed an American dumping toxic waste in Mexico. Hodgins comes to realize he may still have feelings for Angela. The team discovers a zip gun was used to kill Ursula. When confront for having Ursula killed the business woman, Rachel, claims that she is backed by Innatron. In the end Miller is arrested and charged with killing Ursula because he over heard her and Rachel talking about a monetary deal that could be worth millions.
