Owen Wilson Will Not Promote "Drillbit" in Typical Fashion
In the attempt to avoid questions about his hospitalization last summer for what appeared to be a suicide attempt, Owen Wilson will not do interviews to promote his new movie.
Drillbit Taylor, a new comedy starring Wilson as a bodyguard hired by several students looking for protection against bullies, opens on March 21, 2008 nationwide. But while the film, produced by Judd Apatow and written by Seth Rogan, has gone to great promotional lengths in past weeks, it will utilize its star in a different fashion.
Paramount had the actor recently record Drillbit-themed introductions to Fox's Sunday prime-time lineup, with Wilson appearing before The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Family Guy and Unhitched.
Paramount said that Wilson has done all the studio has asked of him, and his publicist also added that the 39-year-old actor's availability was affected by Marley & Me, a film Wilson is currently shooting alongside Jennifer Aniston in Florida.
