Ozzie Osbourne Sues Former Black Sabbath Member for Ownership Title
Ozzie Osbourne of Black Sabbath wants 50 percent ownership rights for the group's identity. He sued band member Tony Iommi to receive them, Reuters reports.
The 60-year-old long-haired, shade-wearing rocker, filed a complaint in New York on Tuesday against Iommi. Osbourne claims Iommi did not solely establish the Black Sabbath title, Reuters report.
The heavy metal band, which consists of Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward and Tony Iommi, earned their place on the UK and US Rock and Roll Hall of Fames, three and four years ago. They released their first album in 1969/1970, IMDb states.
As indicated by ChattaBox, Iommi is not the lawful possessor of the trademark, which is revealed from Manhattan court documents. However, he has profited from it for a few years now.
News on the scheduled day of the hearing is unclear.
