P. Diddy's Fireworks Permit Denied by East Hampton Council
The Hampton's biggest party of the year will be without fireworks. Diddy applied for a permit to allow an all white fireworks display said to cost over $100,000. The East Hampton Town Council denied the application, stating safety concerns as an issue. They feared that an all white display would attract boats, mistaking the fireworks for lights, and cause accidents along the coast. It is unclear, however, if this is the only reason as the town approved a permit for a similar display not far from Diddy's property.
The fireworks display was supposed to coincide with Diddy's annual White Party. The all-star event, with past guests including Bruce Willis and Snoop Dogg, will go on. The only way to get in is on the guest list, and even those on the list could be turned away if not dressed in white from head to toe. Celebrities have flown in from all corners to attend the White Party in previous years. It is one of the most exclusive social events.
