Palin: Pro-Life Commitment Was Put to the Test

Family circumstances almost challenged her beliefs.

Despite a strict anti-abortion belief, even Sarah Palin has felt tested.

The ultra-conservative former governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate, said at an Ohio Right to Life Society fund-raiser in Columbus, on Friday, that even she was tested twice in her life.

Palin said her anti-abortion commitment was tested during her pregnancy with her youngest son, who has Down Syndrome, and the unexpected pregnancy of her unmarried teenage daughter, according to Fox News.

The group of 3,000 at the Right to Life fund-raiser also learned that the experiences gave Palin more empathy for pregnant women in difficult situations, but didn’t change her mind.

Palin also said that her family learned after Tripp and Trig were born that challenges can sometimes lead to “the greatest blessings.”

Palin also planned to attend a Cleveland-area fund-raiser Saturday night for Ohio and Cleveland Right to Life chapters.
