Paltrow Disses Ryder

The "Shakespeare in Love" actress blogs about her former friend.

America's sweetheart Gwyneth Paltrow has recently dissed an old friend—Winona Ryder. According to anythinghollwood.com, the Shallow Hal star didn't exactly mention the Girl, Interrupted starlet by name, but alluded to the woman in a post for her blog, entitled Goop.

"I had a 'frenemy,' who, as it turned out was pretty hell-bent on taking me down. This person really did what they could to hurt me. I was deeply upset, I was angry, I was all those things you feel when you find out someone you thought you like was venomous and dangerous," Paltrow stated.

Paltrow also alludes to an incident in which the person suffered immense embarrassment, and that she (Paltrow) heard about it. "My reaction was deep relief . . . and happiness," Paltrow wrote.

Former friends, Ryder and Paltrow lived together at one point, and it's rumored that Ryder tried to beat out Paltrow for her Oscar winning role in Shakespeare in Love. Several years later, Ryder was prosecuted for shoplifting and reportedly suffered a xanax overdose last year.
