Despite efforts on Kate Gosselin’s part, Pamela Anderson is not accepting offers of friendship on the Dancing with the Stars set…at least, not offers from the famed mother of eight.
“Pam can’t stand Kate,” a show insider told Life & Style magazine. According to MSNBC.com, the source said Anderson questions the motives that may be behind Gosselin’s friendliness.
“Kate thinks it will help her career, so she’s trying to be all palsy-walsy with Pam,” the source said. “Kate thinks they have a lot in common because their private lives have been tabloid fodder for years and they’ve both had reality shows.”
Show reps deny any sort of high school mentality, but Judge Carrie Ann Inaba admitted Gosselin has a large uphill battle when it comes to getting warmth from fellow cast members and viewers.
“The night they announced the cast, I was tweeting along with it, and as they announced Kate, there was the most negative feedback,” she told Life & Style. “It was so unfortunate. I think everybody just needs to give her a chance, just like everybody else.”
Though Gosselin should have a decent fan base that will allow her to stick around another week or two, despite less then stellar scores from the judges. But if she keeps trying to seek support from Anderson, she may just be out of luck.
“Pam’s in this for Pam and Kate needs to realize that,” the insider said. “There’s little chance of them hanging out together once the show is over.”
