Paramore, who released their first single since the departure of two band members last month, premiered their first video as a trio early Monday morning. The video, directed by Shane Drake, premiered at midnight to a great deal of fan excitement and anticipation on MTV.com.

The video opens with Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Jeremy Davis at their end, unconscious and floating in water. The song has telling lyrics that appear to be addressing the 2010 fallout between former lead guitarist Josh Farro and the three remaining members.

The music video features three versions of the band. The first is the dead and defeated. The second is the fighting and powerful. And the third shows the weaker ones who are still disoriented and trying to escape the “monster,” which is a creation of the music business, according to MTV.

The video takes place in a destroyed and abandoned hospital, which is still being threatened by the video’s “monster.” Blood is splattered on the walls as the band, in cream and white outfits – which could be a resurrection from the floating band members – tries to break down the old walls with music and their feet.

In the meantime, the casual-clothed Williams, Davis, and York frantically try to escape being eaten alive. By the end of the video, they find themselves where the powerful band had been playing. The instruments are laid on the ground as the lingering ending has them scoping the room where “they” once were, representing a new beginning.

“Monster” is featured on the Transformers: Dark of the Moon soundtrack. Fans awaiting more new music have to hold tight a little bit longer because, according to Williams, “Monster" – much like “Decode” and “I Caught Myself” on the Twilight soundtrack in 2008 – is a teaser for new music coming in the next year.

"We're about to start writing it [the next album]. We're getting down to the core of refreshing our band,” Williams said in early June. “We're hoping to have the record out early next year, so hopefully we'll start to record it at the end of 2011."
