Paramount's top executives fired

Trouble at Paramount Studios

Things aren't always kosher in Hollywood and the big wigs behind distributing its films are no exception. According to UPI.com, Paramount pictures Chairman Brad Grey has made the decision to fire two of the company's important executives; executive Brad Weston and group leader John Lesher. It hasn't been discussed as to why the dismissal of the former executives happened, but it has been stated that the replacement for Lesher will be Adam Goodman. Grey mentioned that Goodman had an excellent dedication to promoting good films in recent times.

TheExaminer.com details that Weston had been enjoying the success earned by Paramount's and J. J. Abrams's "Star Trek" before his leave. The Los Angeles Times speculates that the trouble was caused by Paramount's failure to generate as much profit as it had in previous years. Lesher, along with being promoted a little over a year before his firing, had also overseen Paramount's sister indie group, Paramount Vantage.
