'Paranormal State' Recap: Shadow Caster
Season four of Paranormal State has proven to be more intense than the previous episodes. The evidence, stories and proof of paranormal activity has been heightened.
Tuesday’s episode on A&E, "Shadow Caster", proved to be intense as the Paranormal Research Society (PRS) investigated an Alabama home. PRS’s newest case involved a family who claimed to see shadows, feel poking and tugging, and hear voices. The voices were not friendly, and in fact chanted “get out.” Georgiana and her two daughters did get out. Overcome with fear, they left their home after 18 months.
The family had photos of a black shadow in their home and a recorded EVP to prove their claims. Ryan Buell and his team tried to explain the inexplicable. After staying in the house and taunting whatever might be there, Buell felt a presence. He experienced tugging and darkness following him, both which were confirmed with the help of a psychic they consulted.
The team discovered that the ground where the home was built has a dark history. Many lives were lost in the area. The home is connected to a mining area, where many men died in work-related incidents, committed suicide, and had problems with fellow workers according to the local historian. The team concluded that the wounds surrounding the mine may be connected to the house and may be the answer to the activity.
The family, with their help, performed a cleansing and later sought out their religion to help calm the paranormal activity. The house is still an open investigation as the group tries to directly identify who or what the black shadow belongs to and why it is drawn to the family. The family wants to move back in and take back their home, but is waiting for the activity to lessen.
