Paris Hilton: A Changed Woman?
In a shocking turn of events Paris Hilton revealed in her first out-of-jail interview that she "hated" prison. The interview, conducted by CNN's Larry King, came just a day after the hotel heiress was released due to claustrophobia.
Hilton, dressed in her usual attire of a lady-like beige dress, told King that she read her Bible while in jail, but could not name a favorite passage. "I've always been religious," said Hilton. "I went to Catholic school as a child. And I've always had a sense of spirituality, but even more so now, after being in jail."
The 23-day stint seems to have made quite the impact on the socialite, who says she'll be ending her partying days in favor of campaigning for such causes as "multiple sclerosis" and "kids." Hilton also said she'd like to help with prison rehabilitation.
"I know I can make a difference and hopefully stop this vicious circle of these people going in and out of jail," she said.
But the interview wasn't all charity and transformations. After being grilled by King as to the exact nature of the prison food Hilton replied, "Lunch is basically a bologna sandwich, which is they just give a bologna which--they call it mystery meat. It's really scary."
Even scarier than the prison entrees, though, was the strip-search, performed in front of a female officer. Hilton called it "The most humiliating experience of my life."
"I never had to do that, you know, doing that in front of someone you don't even know," she said of the public disrobing--a new ordeal for Hilton, who has never been seen by strangers without her clothes on. "It's pretty embarrassing."
