Paris Hilton's Move from Prison to Home

After a psychiatric evaluation, Paris Hilton is removed from prison and sent to her home to complete the remaining days of her sentence under house arrest.

After serving about three days in solitary confinement, Paris Hilton was transferred today from a prison a few miles away from Los Angeles to her home to serve the remaining 40 days of her sentence under house arrest. Some sources claimed that Hilton's removal from prison was caused by a physical medical emergency, yet others believe her departure from prison was the result of a psychological assessment.

According to TMZ.com, a psychiatrist had visited Hilton in jail and discovered that her "mental state was fragile" and that she was "at risk." This evaluation, after its presentation to the Sheriff, allowed for her transfer from the prison to her own home to serve the remainder of her sentence.

Earlier today, Hilton's attorney released a statement on her behalf. The statement expressed Hilton's appreciation and gratitude for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department and the Century Regional Detention Center staff for their professionalism and fair treatment during her trial and imprisonment.
