Parker and Broderick Fear They Will Pass On "Smoking Gene"

Son is curious about their ciggie habits.

Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick fear that their young son's curiosity about their smoking may lead him to light up later on in life, WENN reports.

The couple's five-year-old son, James Wilkie, is rather inquisitive and constantly asks his parents what they are doing when they light up a cigarette. "He'll see a cigarette butt and say, 'What is that? Why do people smoke?' I can just see the little budding gene of a smoker in there," Broderick reveals.

However, the hubby of the Sex and the City star defends that he lights up much less than she does. "Sarah Jessica is worse than me on that. James Wilkie is already curious."

But Broderick does admit: "I used to smoke cigarettes, and I still do, lately. I gave that up a long time ago, but every now and then I will fall off for a week."

Parker and Broderick have been married since May of 1997.
