Partners in Dance and Romance Split

Mario Lopez has split with girlfriend Karina Smirnoff, whom he met through Dancing with the Stars, SFGate.com reports.

The two met while dancing partners on the hit show and soon became real-life partners as well. Wasting no time, they moved in together shortly after their season of the show ended.

However, things may have cooled down as quickly as they seemed to heat up, and the two have parted ways. Ironically, just one month ago, Smirnoff asserted that they were "still going strong."

It seems that Lopez - who has carved out a reputation as a "love them and leave them" kind of guy - and his girlfriend need time to focus on themselves. "He's a great guy, I think the world of him, he's a wonderful man," Smirnoff says of her ex-boyfriend. However, "We're both concentrating on our own careers right now."

The newly single gal also admits: "I wouldn't be a good girlfriend to anyone, I'm so busy."
