Patrick Dempsey's rep downplays comments that the eighth season of 'Grey's Anatomy' will be his last

In a recent interview with Italian Vogue, Patrick Dempsey revealed that his eighth season on Grey’s Anatomy will be his last.

"I do not know what's going to happen to the other characters, but for me it's done," he said in the interview, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

While addressing the hit show and his involvement, Dempsey said leaving will be "bittersweet because it's been a great part of my life. But I can't see me doing it anymore."

However, Dempsey’s rep told Us Magazine that it’s a little less concrete than that.

"He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds,” his rep said.
