Patty Duke Recovering After Surgery

The Oscar-winning actress is in fair condition after going through heart surgery.

Patty Duke, most famous for her roles as the twin cousins, Patty and Cathy Lane on the 1960s show "The Patty Duke Show", is recovering after undergoing a single bypass surgery on Wednesday. After having surgery at Kootenai Medical Center in Couer d'alene, Idaho, she was transferred to the intensive care unit at the North Idaho Heart Center where she is in fair condition.

This operation is a follow-up to last spring, when Duke had a stent inserted into one of her arteries to improve blood flow.

Although most famous for her roles as the twin cousins, Duke starred in the classic films "Valley of the Dolls" and "The Miracle Worker", where she won an Oscar for her role as Helen Keller.

Duke is expected to be in full recovery by the end of November.
