Paula Abdul Approves "Idol" Replacement

On Wednesday, the announcement that Ellen DeGeneres would be replacing Paula Abdul's spot as an "Idol" judge and has been received with praise.

Kara DioGuardi a fellow judge said she is "thrilled". DioGuardi was added to the "Idol" judge line-up last season. Randy Jackson, an original judge, is "pumped". Most importantly to the "American Idol" show, the fans are sending a positive response to the 51 year old comedian.

People have been wondering what Abdul felt about her seat filler. Paula has posted on her Twitter page "I think Ellen will b a gr8 judge on Idol. She is wildly funny, talented and I wish her the best of luck!" Abdul abruptly left "Idol" slightly before the ninth season began taping.

Paula Abdul is still being active since her leave from "American Idol", she will be guest-starring on Lifetimes "Drop Dead Diva" (September 17th), considering a talk show and has a hosting job for "VH1 Divas"
