Paula Abdul May Not Be Returning to 'American Idol'
Attention, hopeful contestants. The nice judge, Paula Abdul, won't be returning to "American Idol." That is unless the producers pay her a lot of money.
With the next season of Idol to begin auditioning on August 6th, "Idol" has not yet offered a new contract to the judge.
This differs considerably from "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest, who reportedly signed a $45 million dollar deal that will keep him on the show for the next three years. It's no wonder Abdul's mad.
Randy Jackson has been booked until 2011 and Simon Cowell is said to be in talks about his contract. The producers do not yet have a deal for new judge Kara DioGuardi, but she reportedly wishes to return to the show as well.
As for Abdul: "She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry," manager David Sonenberg told the LA Times.
