Peaches Geldof Announces Divorce

Sky News reports that socialite Peaches Geldof has announced her divorce with rock star Max Drummey, claiming the split to be mutual and amicable. The teenage daughter of Sir Bob Geldof married the 24-year-old in Las Vegas last August, a month after they met.

"After much soul-searching we have made the mutual decision to end our marriage and have agreed to go our separate ways," their statement said.

The Times Online reports that Geldof, who currently divides her time between London and New York, where she writers for a fashion magazine, was forced to deny rumors her marriage was in trouble in November last year.

It is believed the couple has been living apart and fell out after a series of rows. Her friendship with the New York-based singer-songwriter Donald Cumming did not help.

Sky News reports a spokesperson of the 19-year-old said Peaches would focus on media and fashion projects in London and New York, while her ex would continue with his band, Chester French.
