Penelope Cruz Angry with Spanish Press
Actress Penelope Cruz remains fearful when she ventures out in her native Spain, because she feels the country's press and paparazzi are out of hand, WENN reports.
Cruz feels that Spain has become addicted to "cheap" news and since she is dating fellow star Javier Bardem, the two have become prime fodder for the media. The Vanilla Sky star reveals that camera crews often spend the nights in front of her home near Madrid, hoping to catch any glimpses they can.
Explains the star: "In Spain these TV shows are on for maybe 17 hours a day. They are very cheap to make because they just have somebody running after people in the street with a camera, provoking them, insulting them."
Cruz feels the country's obsession with drama over fact should not be tolerated. "Unless they have a dead body in front of them, it's not enough. I mean, it is just beyond crazy and completely unacceptable," she says.
