People releases first pictures of Jaycee Lee Dugard since her kidnapping
People Magazine released the first pictures of Jaycee Lee Dugard since her rescue after 18 years of captivation on their website on Wednesday. According to the Reno-Gazette Journal, the people of her Lake Tahoe community are glad to see Dugard smiling and happy.
After being kidnapped as a child, Jaycee was held captive by her alleged kidnapper Phillip Garrido for 18 years. She also had two children with Garrido, who lived with her in Garrido's yard.
Larry Hennick, an El Dorado County sheriff's sergeant stated that Dugard should give hope to families of other missing children. Jaycee is now 29, and is living with her mother and her two children. According to People Magazine, she is "so happy to be back with [her] family." People will print the magazine, with an article and several pictures of Dugard, on Friday.
