People of the World: You Can Now Re-Spice Your Life
We had a little love, and now they're back for more. That's right: dust off those CD's and break out that British flag. The Spice Girls are back.
While rumors of a reunion have been floating about for a while plans seemed to be stagnating as a result of Sporty's solo career. Luckily for us, the sum of the Spice Girls is greater than its parts (sorry Sporty), and as announced on June 28th, the six-year Spice drought will soon come to an end. The reunion will include a world tour, in cities such as New York and London, and a greatest-hits CD to be released in November.
The Girls, though bereft of platform shoes and Union Jack miniskirts, have not remained completely out of the limelight. Posh, who somehow managed to get herself married to David Beckham, will have her own reality show about her imminent move to L.A. And in another bizarre twist, a paternity test recently revealed Eddie Murphy to be Scary's baby daddy.
The quintet Girl-Powered their way to 55 million in album sales and a hit movie, spawning legions of tweenage girl fans and a quest to find out the exact definition of the word "zig-a-zag-ah." The reunion will mark seven years since the group--Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell--officially split, and eleven years since you sang "Wannabe" with your hairbrush in front of the mirror.
It looks like that song was right along: friendship really does never end.
