Perez Hilton Wants to be a Judge on 'American Idol'

Think American Idol could use a little more flare? So does Perez Hilton.

The celebrity blogger thinks that he would be perfect to take over as a judge on American Idol after Simon Cowell leaves next season.

"If they're looking for a new judge on 'American Idol,' I am available. I haven't asked Simon Fuller, who created the show, but maybe I should,” Hilton said to MTV.

And even if Hilton can’t get the judges job on American Idol, he’s got a back up plan. Hilton is just as willing to work along side Cowell as a judge on the U.S. version of the X Factor, which is scheduled to air in 2011, according to MTV.

Hilton clearly seems drawn to Cowell, and for good reason.

“I admire anyone who works for it. Simon Cowell works for it ... he's worked so hard to get where he is now, he executive-produces his shows, he has a music label, and I think I've seen some reports that he's worth a billion dollars. Did I mention he was insanely rich?" Hilton said to MTV.
