PETA Ad Banned For Being Too Sexy
Apparently, vegetables can be too steamy for the Super Bowl. NBC rejected an ad submitted by PETA to be shown during the broadcast of the most prestigious sport event of the year for being too sexy. The ad shows a number of women caressing themselves with and licking a variety of vegetables concluding with the phrase "Vegetarians have better sex." According to peta.org, NBC's rejection letter said the ad "depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards." PETA published the full letter from NBC which allegedly "even made us [PETA] blush" and is a list of unacceptable scenes that would have to be cut:
Licking pumpkin
Touching her breast with her hand while eating broccoli
Pumpkin from behind between legs
Rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin
Screwing herself with broccoli (fuzzy)
Asparagus on her lap appearing as if it is ready to be inserted into vagina
Licking eggplant
Rubbing asparagus on breast
In the meantime, PETA enjoys the extra attention created by the controversy and is good-humored about the rejection. "Why so grouchy NBC?" The group said. "Sounds like someone's not getting enough um...vegetables."
