Pete and Ashley Are Preggers!

Rumors are finally confirmed that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz are having their first baby.

According to E! Online, last week, Wentz was still being secretive to the couple's baby status when he was interviewing with Ryan Secrest on KIIS-FM. He said that since there had been no real confirmation, he doesn't understand why the press could report Ashlee to be pregnant so quickly.

"[W]e wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child," the duo wrote on Pete's blog on FriendsOrEnemies.com. "This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."

People.com reported that Ashlee announced she will be Ashlee Wentz in private, but Ashlee Simpson-Wentz professionally.

Simpson-Wentz, 23, and Wentz, 28, married May 17 in the Simpsons' L.A. home. According to the Associated Press, big sister Jessica Simpson was the maid of honor.

Simpson-Wentz told People after her wedding, "I would love to have a big family one day." Then her husband added, "A big soccer team or a band!"

A rep for Ashlee Simpson-Wentz could not be reached for comment. There is still no official news on the baby's gender.
