Peter Jackson Finally Attends Comic-Con
San Diego's Comic-Con gave Peter Jackson a warm welcome on Friday.
According to Associated Press, the film director attended the festival to promote his latest movie that he produced, "District 9," a film about aliens and segregation in South Africa. Neill Blomkamp, director, had previously worked with Jackson to make an adaptation of the popular video game, "Halo," but created "District 9" instead, due to "studio politics," Jackson said.
MTV.com reports that Jackson could not attend previous Comic-Cons due to his schedule for filming the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "King Kong." "It's weird -- it's the first time I come here, and it's not for a film I've directed, but produced," Jackson said about attending this year's convention.
Jackson told his audience at the festival that there will not be new casting calls for his other project, "The Hobbit," until about a month, Zap2It.com reports. With the movie being split into two parts, Jackson will deliver the script for the first part in three or four weeks.
