Jury selection begins in the murder trial of Phil Spector.

It's been more than four years since the death of Lana Clarkson, a B-movie actress, in the home of music producer Phil Spector, and Monday marked the first day of the trial as jury selection began.

Feb. 3. 2003, Clarkson, working at the House of Blues, went home with Spector. Clarkson was later found dead, from a bullet wound to the face, in the foyer of Spector's home. Spector was charged with murder after the death was labeled a homicide by the Coroner's office. Spector has been reported as having said that the incident was an "accidental suicide," and has pleaded not guilty.

Spector is best known for his musical work with rock stars, like The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen. In addition to producing and writing music, he is recognized as revolutionizing rock music with his "wall of sound" technique in the 1960s. Clarkson worked steadily in film and TV until 2001. She was most well known for her role in the cult classic Barbarian Queen.

Jury selection is predicted to take up to a month, with opening statements scheduled for April 30.
