Phoenix Rapper Saga ContinuesÉ
After endless reports speculating the reasons for Joaquin Phoenix's abrupt switch from acting to rapping, it was believed that the "Walk the Line" star was playing a practical joke on the media.
However, the Oscar-nominated actor has stated that his move into the Hip Hop world is for real. "There's not a hoax. Might I be ridiculous? Might my career in music be laughable? Yeah, that's possible, but that's certainly not my intention," Phoenix said, according to the Associated Press.
"I don't know where that comes from," he added, referring to the rumors. "If it comes from people that I've had a falling out with, that are (ticked) off at me?"
The actor-turner-rapper had a very famous debut in Las Vegas last month. Footage of the concert was seen all over the internet featuring Phoenix rapping indistinctly and falling off the stage.
Still, Phoenix is going ahead with the cameras following wherever he goes. "I think true hip-hop heads know that it's hard, it's going to be a hard transition, and people are going to be lining up just to make fun of me," the 34-year-old said.
