Piers Morgan Admits to Using Drugs to His Kids
America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan recently told his three children about his past drug use while he was the head of British tabloid theMirror.
Morgan has since said that he has quit using substances, but told his sons, Spencer, 15, Stanley, 11, and Bertie, 7, all about his drug use, but says that it isn't that big of a deal.
Morgan's drug use was made public during his time with the Mirror when he was in a legal battle with supermodel Naomi Campbell. The supermodel won the suit for invasion of privacy after Morgan's publication ran photos of Campbell leaving a Narcotics Anonymous meeting.
"I've taken drugs before," Morgan said. "It's no big secret. . . . I've told my kids I've taken them."
Morgan went on to say, "When the Naomi Campbell case came up, I thought I was going to be asked that in court, so I said to my parents and my kids, 'Look, I took drugs in the past . . . but I don't any more. . . .'"
"I don't want my children thinking it's cool. What I said to them was, 'Look guys, I've known lots of people who have taken drugs in their lives and the winners stop and the losers carry on.' I'm not proud of taking drugs and I'm not going to take them again."
