Pirates makers sued
Writer Royce Mathew claims the ideas were stolen from his "Supernatural Pirate Movie."
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has smashed box office records worldwide, but now a screenwriter is saying the ideas were all his.
Royce Mathew, who has served on the crew for such films as "Ghetto Blaster" and "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama," claims he created drawings and a screenplay for a project he called "Supernatural Pirate Movie."
Mathew claims his leads were named Will Turner and Elizabeth, and that he named the pirate ship the Black Pearl. Mathew also claimed he registered the drawings and his screenplay with the US Copyright Office, and now is suing Disney, Buena Vista, Touchstone and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
