Pitt Battles Against Proposition 8

In November, for the first time, Californians will be asked to ban, or keep, the legalization of same-sex marriage in the state. Same-sex marriage is only legally permitted in two states in America: California and Massachusetts.

Brad Pitt, for one, has an opinion about this issue which he expressed monetarily and vocally. He donated $100,000 to fight the battle to overturn the State Supreme Court decision. Pitt said, "Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8."

Actually, Pitt expressed his surprise that more people in the entertainment industry had not donated their money against Proposition 8. But, perhaps this is part of Angelina's and Brad's donating "spree," as the couple announced earlier this week that they donated $2 million to fight HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia.
