Pitt Is Pro Gay Marriage
According to the Associated Press, gay marriage has a very generous, and very famous supporter.
In November, voters in California, where same-sex marriage has recently been given the OK by the Supreme Court, will be asked to vote for an initiative that would overturn the decision and once again ban gay marriage.
That's where Brad Pitt comes in.
The ever politically active Pitt said Wednesday that he made a donation, "Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8."
And what a donation it was.
The star has reportedly donated a stunning $100,000 to help support efforts against the initiative. Pitt's political and philanthropic advisor, Trevor Neilson, told the Associated Press that the actor is surprised that others in the entertainment industry have not donated more to the cause as well.
It has been a money spending, cause driven week for Pitt and Angelina Jolie who have also announced that a donation of $2 million was made toward ending HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia.
