Playboy Patriarch Finally Divorces Wife

Hugh Hefner, 83, filed for divorce from wife former Playboy Playmate Kimberly Conrad.

Conrad lives in a house adjacent to the Playboy Mansion with their two sons. They have been separated since January of 1998.

In a statement to TMZ Hefner said, "I am happy to be out of the marriage. I only remained married (to Conrad) for the sake of the children, at her request."

Conrad had filed for a $5 million lawsuit against Hefner in relation to the sale of the house the two of them owned. The head of the Playboy empire is worth more than $43 million and that's not including Playboy stock and property.

Since their separation he has paid Conrad up to $12 million and wants spousal support to be set at $20,000 per month. He started the magazine back in the 1950's. With free adult material being offered via the internet, profits from Playboy Enterprises Inc has decreased. As of now Hefner is editor-in-chief of the magazine.
