PlayStation 3 Game, "LittleBigPlanet," Release Date Being Postponed
Sad news for gamers wanting to get their hands on a copy of PlayStation 3's LittleBigPlanet come 12 a.m. October 21, you're going to have to wait another week, according to Yahoogames.
Reportedly, everything was set for the game's release. It's sitting in the back rooms of some retailers waiting, and it has even already received more than a few rave reviews.
So why the delay?
The problem has to do with the soundtrack to the game as one song from it is being hailed as offensive to the Muslim community.
A Muslim group issued a complaint to Sony concerning a song performed by Toumani Diabate, an award winning Malian musician, as it contains two verses from the Qur'an. Unlike the Christian faith, it is seen as offensive by many Muslims to mix scripture with music.
Sony's U.S. director of Corporate Communications posted a statement on the PlayStation blog, stating, "Sorry for the delay, and rest assured, we are doing everything we can to get LittleBigPlanet to you as soon as possible."
Gamers have no fear! Reportedly, the song is out and an updated version of the game will be going out to stores the week of October 27.
