Poehler Welcomes Baby Boy

The comedian and "Saturday Night Live" alum gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Saturday.

After appearing on Thursday's "Saturday Night Live" and rehearsing up until her due date, comedian Amy Poehler gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday, according to People magazine.

A rep for Poehler and her husband, Will Arnett, said the couple welcomed Archie Arnett on Saturday and he weighed 8 lbs., 1 oz.

"Amy, Will and Archie are all healthy and resting comfortably," the rep said.Though Poehler's due date was in late Oct., the comedian appeared in SNL skits up until just two days before giving birth.

The comedian was scheduled to appear in a skit with former cast mate Maya Rudolph to reprise their "Bronx Beat" skit. Instead, Rudolph appeared in a duet with Kenan Thompson in which they switched the words to "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" to include, "We love you Amy, and we just can't wait to meet your baby."

Poehler previously announced she would not return to SNL after the birth of her child but will star in a primetime comedy on NBC in the spring.
