The Police Chief Accused of the Sarah Jessica Parker's Surrogate Mother Break-In Faces Prison
The police officer involved in Sarah Jessica Parker’s surrogate mother’s house break-in was sentenced to prison, reported People Magazine.
Barry Carpenter, an ex-police chief for Ohio, was found guilty of involvement in the house break-in and received two years and eight months in prison.
His attorney will appeal for a shorter time than the one given to Carpenter by the judge on Wednesday, although Carpenter could have received up to six years.
The 40-year-old was found of receiving stolen property, theft in office and tampering with evidence in November.
Parker told reporters the break-in made her fear for her twin’s safety.
Currently Carpenter has been under house arrest at his mother’s home.
Carpenter maintains his innocence claiming he went into the house after noticing the door opened and did not take anything.
Carpenter’s alleged accomplice, Police Chief Chad M. Dojack, was arrested in July along with Carpenter and will stand trial in January.
