Mariah Carey breaks Elvis's US chart record for number ones, Madonna for top tens.

Who says Elvis is the King?

Pop singer Mariah Carey has beaten Elvis Presley's US chart record with her 18th number one hit single. If Elvis is King, does this mean we can call Mariah the Queen?

At 38 years old, Mariah has surpassed Elvis's record of 17 number ones and is approaching the Beatles' record of 20. "Touch My Body," from her new album E=MC2 is her latest to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and it has also topped its download chart.

According to BBC News, Carey dismissed comparisons with Presley and The Beatles. Those artists have "not only revolutionized music," she said, "but also changed the world. That's a different era and time."

Madonna also broke an Elvis record with her song "4 Minutes" featuring Justin Timberlake, which became her 37th top 10 hit on the US charts.
