The Pope to Release an Album
Pope Benedict is going the way of most celebrities; he is going to release an album. Geffen Records, owned by Columbia music, and whose repertory of performers includes Lady Gaga, Ashley Simpson, and Snoop Dog, is due to release an album with his Holiness himself as the performer. The Pope will be singing and reciting Biblical verses, including prayer to the Virgin Mary.
His voice will be accompanied by the Choir of the Philharmonic Academy of Rome and will come from prerecorded tracks licensed for use by the Vatican radio. The album will also include eight original compositions performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, according to ABC NEWS.
Before any tracks are released to iTunes, the Pope must give his blessing and approval beforehand. The album is due November 30th. The proceeds from the album sales will go towards funding music education for underprivileged children around the world.
