Pretty in Pink Director Dies From Heart Attack
Tragically, director John Hughes died Thursday August 6th from a heart attack at the age of 59. A representative told ABC News that the director passed away "while visiting family in Manhattan."
Hughes was well known for directing classics such as "The Breakfast Club," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Pretty in Pink" to name a few. He had a knack for capturing the essence of the lives of college and high school students alike. The youth of the 80's enjoyed watching actress, Molly Ringwald, blossom from the awkward adolescent to the 'belle of the ball' in "Pretty in Pink."
Jon Cryer, who played Ringwald's oddball sidekick told MSNBC that "he still hears fans call him 'Duckie' wherever he goes" but not 'Alan' from "Two and a Half Men." Because of Hughes' genius lines from these films will be remembered for a long time to come.
