Pop singer Jessica Simpson was spotted leaving a medical facility on June 14, where rumors began that she was consulting a plastic surgeon to have some work done. Simpson quickly shot down what she says are false rumors.
She wrote via her Twitter page, "True-went to the doctor yesterday. False-plastic surgery." She assured her fans that the visit to the doctor's office was simply for a routine check-up.
Simpson, whose reality show The Price of Beauty airs on VH1, traveled around the world educating herself and the public about radical steps that some women in different cultures take to be beautiful. While traveling with her hair dresser and friend Ken Paves and close friend Casey Cobb, they discovered what beauty means in these various cultures.
Since the very public split of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, Simpson has been in the spotlight about her weight. The infamous picture taken at a Florida concert shows the singer wearing unflattering high-waisted jeans, and it illustrated that she had gained a bit of weight. She was criticized for the photo for being too fat and controversy began about thin-obsessed Hollywood.
The 29-year-old confronted the public during an interview on The David Letterman Show in March, saying, "Well, normally you'd think I'd become anorexic after what everyone was saying about me. But I just decided to eat more. Why not? Enjoy life!"
Simpson has called America's obsession with weight "disgusting" and it seems like she will not be going under the knife any time soon.
