Prince Caspian the next Harry Potter?

Prince Caspian opens this weekend, will it give Ben Barnes the popularity Daniel Radcliff gained as Harry Potter?

Could Bret Barnes (Prince Caspian) of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" be the next Daniel Radcliff (Harry Potter)? Barnes, the star of the upcoming continuation of the Narnia series admitted to the Boston Harold that this stardom that he seems to have achieved overnight is something that he calls, "is very surreal."

The newest addition to the Narnia series has been awaited by many since the end of the first adaptation, "The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," of C.S. Lewis' series. It entails the adventures of a group of children through the world of Narnia which they find themselves in after a trip through a wardrobe.

Barnes', the son of a family of doctors and psychotherapists got his start as a choir boy in the local church and dropped out when his voice broke at the age of 15. He then landed himself in the National Youth Music Theater in London. He was found in the West End playing a role in the musical "The History Boys." There a casting director offered him an audition. He was shipped off to Los Angeles where he did a screen test and, "four weeks later I was riding a horse in New Zealand," he told the Herald.

The film opens this Friday, the real question, however, is will it be able to knock 'Iron Man' from its spot on top from the past two weekends and give Barnes the popularity he says he's already star struck with? "I was caught completely short of breath seeing this person that is 80 percent you and 20 percent somebody on a building 10 stories high," he said to the Herald.
