Prince Caspian Premieres in London
A crowd of 10,000 showed up for the premiere of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian when it premiered at London's O2 arena, reported the BBC. It was the largest cinema screen to ever be erected in Europe.
Liam Neeson, Ben Barnes and David Williams, a few of the stars of the film, were also present at the premiere. The prequel to Caspian took in $750 million worldwide in 2005. The turnout at the arena was "mind-blowing," William Moseley told reporters. "It's really beyond anything I could have imagined."
Anna Popplewell, who played Susan in the film, told the BBC that, "It's really nice to bring the film home for us British actors and to be with a home crowd." Ben Barnes, who plays Prince Caspian, told them that he was so overexcited that he was "babbling like an idiot," reported the BBC.
The second installment of the film promised to take audiences on an "extraordinary" journey back to the magical land of Narnia, reported the BBC. The area around the arena was turned into Narnia, even including fighting knights and horseback sword performers, to entertain the fans and celebrities, reported the BBC. The film is to be released in the U.K. on June 26.
