Prince Opens Nightclub in Las Vegas

Pop Star to perform weekly at his new venue.

According to E! online news, pop star Prince has announced he is opening a nightclub at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, where he will perform on Friday and Saturday nights, beginning November 10th.

The club is a 21-plus venue named 3121 after Prince's latest album. It is to occupy a 30,000-square-foot space, should hold around 1,500 people and will replace Club Rio, which has hosted a topless revue called Club Eroticka since February 2005. On Wednesdays, 3121 will host artists featured on Prince's NPG record label, with tickets starting at $125.

A hotel spokeswoman said Prince has signed on to the hotel deal for an indefinite amount of time. He joins Celine Dion, Elton John, Barry Manilow, and Toni Braxton, among others who are currently headlining shows in Vegas this year.
