Usually, it would mean you have lost your popularity if you have to resort to playing a concert for fans at a department store. But for Prince, it's a whole other story.
The singer has booked a deal with Macy's to perform in front of 1400 fans in Minneapolis on July 7, as part of the promotion for the debut of his new fragrance, 3121. For the (reasonable?) price of $250, you can see two of Prince's performances--at Macy's, and at the Target Center--and receive a bottle of his perfume.
Prince's new album is also titled 3121, and his perfume was created in conjunction with Philadelphia-based Revelations Perfume & Cosmetics Inc. Tickets for "The Ultimate Prince Xperience" go on sale Friday at the Macy's in Minneapolis, Prince's hometown.
