Project Runway Finds a New Home on Lifetime

After a settlement out of court, "Project Runway" moves from Bravo to Lifetime.

There's nothing like being fashionably late when it comes to Project Runway. After a ten month hiatus, fans will finally reunite with their designer competition show when it returns to its sixth season late this summer on Aug. 20—just on a different television station.

After a five-year run on Bravo, host Heidi Klum and crew will pack up and jump on over to Lifetime after a long dispute involving NBC Universal, which owns Bravo, the Weinstein Co. and the Lifetime channel.

Just one year ago, NBC Universal sued Weinstein after the production company made a whopping $150 million deal with Lifetime for Runway, leaving Bravo in the dust. According to the Associated Press, in a settlement announced earlier this month, NBC Universal said the right to move the ever popular reality show will be paid for by Weinstein.

"I just want to express my huge relief that 'Project Runway' has come out of the ether and landed at Lifetime. It's thrilling for all of us associated with the show," said contestant mentor, Tim Gunn. "I've never worked with such extraordinary, thoughtful, compassionate and just plain smart people ever."

Gunn recently revealed to OK! magazine that he hasn't been on a date in 26 years and claims he's quite happy being alone. One thing's for sure though, he won't be alone when Project premieres with judges Marie Claire fashion director Nina Garcia and designer Michael Kors returning, while Lindsay Lohan will be among the guests—at least she's doing something constructive.
